Cork St. Patrick’s Festival 2009 is three fun-filled days for all the family featuring the best of Cork Artesian Foods, free Street entertainment and the Parade on March 17th. This year the Festival is celebrating the UN International Year of Astronomy 2009 with a number of cosmos themed events.
Celebrates learning opportunities of all kinds – formal and informal, for all ages, interests and abilities – from pre-school to post retirement. Events include taster sessions, tours, seminars, workshops, displays, performances, taking place in a variety of venues across the city – in shopping centres, parks, galleries, schools, theatres, colleges, on the water.
ArtsFest is an annual opportunity for students, staff, and the wider community to experience international, national, and local artists on the campuses of CIT.

Cork World Book Fest 2009 – a unique celebration of books and reading - starts on 22nd April, includes the Diada de Sant Jordi / Day of the Book on the 23rd, and ends on a high on Saturday 25th on the Grand Parade: writers, book stalls, food stalls, music and more. 
For 5 days in May the Choral Festival presents gala concerts, public performance and national and international competition as thousands of participants from across the world bring the city to life for a celebration of vocal music in all its many forms.
An exciting & spectacular Event, both on & off the water, the race covers a course from Crosshaven to Cork, finishing in spectacular style at Lapps Quay.

Alongside the 26.2-mile marathon, the Team Relay makes this The Marathon for Everyone! An ideal event for charity fund-raising, runners, joggers and walkers of all levels can join in the challenge and savour the magnificent public support. A spectacular finish on St Patrick’s Street ensures a festive occasion in the city centre.
Cork Midsummer Festival is an annual 2 week season of local, national and international events across a range of cultural forms including theatre, off-site performance, contemporary and popular music, participatory projects, mass free events, dance, debate, ideas, visual and conceptual art and food – a real ‘festival of the senses’ for the 21st century.
The Frank O’Connor International Short Story Festival is the longest established annual festival dedicated to the form in the English-speaking world.

Cork Folk Festival is one of Ireland’s oldest festival of traditional/folk music and has taken place annually in September since 1979. The tireless voluntary committee's mission since then has been to provide an urban platform for the indigenous music, song and dance and to attract premier national and international exponents of folk and traditional music to the city.
Top Class International Jazz Artistes will perform at the Weekend, preceded by a week of Community based events during Cork Jazz Festival Week.
Corona Cork Film Festival is Ireland’s oldest and largest film festival, dedicated to the celebration of cinema in all it’s diversity. The Festival is particularly focused on short film, documentaries and independent cinema.
